From Bratislava, Slovakia

Easiest way is to use fast trains from Bratislava Hlavná stanica to Zvolen and Lučenec (and Košice as final destination). Trains leaves in 4 hours interval 8:01, 12:01 and 16:01 (4 hours long trip). There are other trains from Bratislava to Košice directed through Žilina - DO NOT USE them. Not all carriages continue from Zvolen to Lučenec, but the conductor should you notify you need to change. You can also use trains to Banská Bystrica (leaving Bratislava at 6:01, 10:01, 14:01 and 16:57) and change train in Zvolen osobná stanica. The local trains usually stay next (same platform) to fast train to Banská Bystrica. You can find all train timatables at web page of Slovak railway company.
Other possibility is to use bus transport - there are many companies, providing connection between Bratislava and Lučenec. Timetables (also for trains) can be found at this web page.

From Vienna, Austria

Usually the best is to get to Bratislava by train (OeBB) or bus (Slovak Lines or RegioJet).
There also operates one direct bus line between Vienna (Airport) and Lučenec (directing to Snina), leaving Viena airport at 9:05, arriving to Lučenec at 14:40.

From Košice, Slovakia

You can also use trains leaving Košice at 5:23, 9:23, 13:23 and 15:23 (cca 2,5 hours trip) to Lučenec (and Bratislava). The trains are operated by Slovak railway company, where you can find timetables.

From Budapest, Hungary

Unfortunatelly there is no direct connection to Lučenec. But you can use fast trains from Budapest Keleti Pu. to Hatvan, there change to regional train to Somosköujfalu, which is city next to Slovak borders and quite near to Lučenec, where we can take you by car. By own car:
